Actor and producer Rupeysh is all set to deliver a touching family drama with Shashtipoorthi, releasing on May 30 under the Maa Aaie Productions banner.
The film centers around family values and emotions—elements Rupeysh believes are lacking in today’s cinema.
“This story moved me deeply. I enjoyed acting in it even more than producing,” he shared.
Directed by Pavan Prabha, Shashtipoorthi stars veteran actor Dr. Rajendra Prasad, along with Archana and Akanksha Singh in prominent roles.
Rupeysh revealed the story was written specifically for Rajendra Prasad, and the role of his son was originally meant for a newcomer — but he stepped in to fill the gap.
Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja has scored the film, and Rupeysh emphasized how much value his contribution added.
“He gave us multiple options for each song and was incredibly supportive. Chaitanya Prasad played a key role in making it all come together. The songs and background score will truly move audiences,” he said.
The film’s technical crew also features legendary art director Thota Tharani.
“We exceeded our budget, but every rupee is visible on screen. No one made extra demands — everyone believed in the script,” Rupeysh noted.
He also said that multiple workshops were held before the shoot, and he felt deeply connected to the emotional scenes.
“That’s not overconfidence — it’s emotional alignment,” he clarified.
He concluded by highlighting that Shashtipoorthi includes a simple yet beautiful love story and will see a wide release across the Telugu states, with overseas plans depending on audience response.
The film is all set for a grand theatrical release on May 30.
