Despite a string of recent flops, this Tollywood biggie is expected to deliver the highest opening of the actor’s career at the Indian box office.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom initially struggled to generate buzz, but momentum picked up after the release of its impactful trailer.
Though some called it routine, the trailer helped the film trend positively across social media, and its influence was seen in advance bookings both in India and overseas.
Meanwhile, the failure of Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu has shifted audience focus to Kingdom. The massive disappointment of that magnum opus left a vacuum in the Telugu market — one that Kingdom is well-positioned to fill.
Thanks to a successful pre-release event and growing traction in the final promotional stretch, the film is now expected to open in the ₹17–19 crore net range on Day 1 in India.
If that holds, Kingdom will surpass Liger (₹15.95 crore) to become Vijay Deverakonda’s biggest opening to date.
