Actress Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, industrialist Sunjay Kapur, died suddenly on June 12, 2025.
After his death, his Rs 30000 crore company, Sona Comstar, has been caught in legal and family battles.
Reports say Karisma is now demanding her share of the empire, though she has not made any public comment yet.
The situation turned more dramatic when Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, sent a letter to shareholders.
She claimed she owns most of the company and the family estate, but said she was forced to sign documents while she was emotionally broken after her son’s death.
She accused certain people of taking advantage of her grief to control the company.
Karisma and Sunjay were married in 2003 and divorced in 2016. Their separation was messy, with Karisma accusing Sunjay and his mother of domestic abuse.
She even claimed Sunjay forced her into uncomfortable situations during their honeymoon. In return, Sunjay alleged that Karisma married him for his wealth.
They have two children, Samaira and Kiaan, who are in Karisma’s custody. As part of the divorce, she received a Mumbai property and bonds worth Rs 14 crore each for the children’s future.
Despite this, her current claim has brought new controversy to Sunjay’s legacy.
