Hrithik Roshan has finally reacted to the disappointing box office performance of War 2 and he did it in the most unexpected way: by trolling himself.
At a recent event at Dubai’s Coca Cola Arena, Hrithik was welcomed on stage with applause and praise from the host, who called him a “global icon.”
As the crowd cheered, Hrithik responded with a humorous yet honest remark.
He said, “That’s very kind of you… You know, my film just bombed at the box office, so it feels very good to get all the love. Thank you.”
War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, released on August 14 with massive expectations but failed to deliver.
The action thriller received mixed reviews, with many viewers citing weak writing and subpar VFX. Despite being part of the successful YRF Spy Universe; after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan and Tiger 3; the film underperformed.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also features Ashutosh Rana and Kiara Advani in key roles.
While fans expected a grand spectacle, War 2 fell far below the hype, making Hrithik’s lighthearted self-troll even more striking.
