AP Govt Lent Support For Akhanda: Ravinder Reddy

Producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy of Dwaraka Creations celebrates his birthday tomorrow and he got best gift in form of blockbuster success of Akhanda.

The film starring Balakrishna and was directed by Boyapati Sreenu is surprising the trade pundits with steady performance at box office in its fourth week.

Ravinder Reddy says budget of Akhanda was increased due to various reasons, but he always had the confidence on the script and the combination.

“Boyapati narrated the entire script from start to end. I had confidence on the film from day one itself, although Balakrishna, Boyapati maintained silent.”

The producer opines it’s the script and Balakrishna’s Aghora character which intrigued overseas audience, though it’s a mass and action entertainer.

He confirms Akhanda is the biggest hit in Balakrishna and Boyapati’s careers.

Ravinder Reddy says the subject of Akhanda has universal subject and it will do much better in north.

“As the story is set in the backdrop of Kashi and it has universal appeal, it will work wonders in Bollywood. If it’s remade in Hindi, Ajay Devgn will be the right choice.”

He informs he will be making his next with a newcomer. “The film will go on floors from March. We will reveal director and other details soon.”

Ravinder Reddy also reacted on low ticket pricing in Andhra Pradesh.

“Governments do not give priority to individuals or organizations. When Akhanda was released, industry biggies were in talks with the government. Thus, we decided not to react then. However, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government lent good support for the movie, in terms of ticket pricing in all the areas in AP.”
