TANA International Internship Program For Youth

“This program is designed to promote Telugu culture and bonds to Andhra Pradesh among younger generation of Americans of Telugu origin. This will provide the scholars the direct experience of living and working conditions during their internship period in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.  All related expenses of these interns while they are in India will be borne by TANA. The first batch (2007) of 5 scholars gave high ratings for their experiences.” Prasad Thotakura, Secretary of TANA & Chairman of TANA IIP, said

This year’s scholars are:
1. Ms. Divya Yalamanchili (Dallas, Texas) – interning at Dua Associates Law Firm
2. Mr. Sahith Aula (Chandler, Arizona) – interning at Fox Mandal-Little Law Firm
3. Mr. Lekhaj Daggubati (Marlboro, New Jersey) – interning at CARE Hospitals
4. Ms. Kirsten Seetha Bondalapati (Detroit, Michigan) – interning at CARE Hospitals
5. Ms. Rekha Kambhampati (North Potomac, Maryland) – interning at CARE Hospitals
6. Ms. Puja Chebrolu (Columbus, Georgia) – interning at CARE Hospitals

MVL Prasad, TANA IIP, Co chair said “These scholars were selected after a detailed screening process by a committee that reviewed their academic excellence, extra-curricular/leadership activities, interest in Telugu language and heritage and 750 word essay describing how they can utilize this program to be brand ambassadors for Telugu culture & heritage in North America”. 

The program will begin on June 22nd and wil end on July 31st.  The inaguaration ceremony  will be held on June 19th at 11:00 AM at CARE Banjara Hospital. Hon. Minister for Higher Education and NRI Affairs Sri. Sridhar Babu Duddilla will attend as a Chief Guest and inaguarate the TANA IIP.  CARE Foundation Chairman Dr. Krishnam Raju, CARE Medical Director Dr. Suryaprakash Gulla and TANA IIP Co-Chair MVL Prasad and representatives from Vegesna Foundation, Fox Mandal-Little Law firm and Dua Associates Law firm will also attend. 

Vegesna Foundation will be acting as local coordinators of TANA IIP for the second time.

All scholars will be housed at a convenient location in Hyderabad and will attend to respective areas of training during weekdays.  Over weekends, they will organize outings to various points of importance such as historical places (Charminar, Golconda Fort), Entertainment (Shopping centers, Ramoji Studios), Interesting places like Assembly Hall, Academic Institutions like Indian School of Business (ISB), Osmania and Central Universities, etc.

There will be visits to experience typical village and small town life also.  This will provide an all-round experience and knowledge to scholars to make them the Brand Ambassadors of Telugu Culture and Heritage in North America.
