Telangana 'Sadak Bandh' Loses Steam!

The much-publicised “Sadak Bandh” (highway blockade) proposed by the Telangana Joint Action Committee has lost its steam, with the sudden bomb blasts at Dilsukhnagar on Thursday last.

The TJAC announced that it was postponing the Sadak Bandh on Hyderabad-Bangalore national highway to a later date in the wake of the Dilsukhnagar blasts, but it is now in a state of confusion as to when it should hold the programme.

For, the people of Telangana appear to have lost interest in the same in the wake of the blasts. Secondly, it is examination season for the students and without their participation, the programme would not be a success.

At the same time, the AP NGOs association also has dropped its Chalo Hyderabad rally on March 2 and thus, there would not be much impact even if the TJAC organises its Sadak Bandh on Vijayawada highway. And finally, TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram is said to be leaving for the USA in the last week of March and hence, the programme has to be postponed indefinitely, say sources.
