Komatireddy Bros To Stay Back In Cong

It is official now. Komatireddy brothers – Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and his younger brother Bhongir MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy – have decided to stay back in the Congress and drop their plans to defect to any other party.

Rajagopal Reddy told the media on Sunday that there was no question of leaving the Congress party and join any other party, despite the fact that he had some differences with the party leaders on the issues like Telangana.

“My brother Venkat Reddy also would not join any other party. It is a fact that we are great fans of late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, but that does not mean we defect to YSR Congress. We will contest from Nalgonda again on the Congress party ticket,” he said.

Both the brothers had initially contemplated joining the YSR Congress party and later changed their mind, saying they would join the Telangana party if they wanted to quit the Congress. However, they have now decided to stay back in the Congress, thanks to the lobbying done by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
