TDP Is Firm On Telangana Letter!

Despite the high drama enacted by the Congress leaders from Coastal Andhra led by Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal to change the mindset of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on the Telangana issue, the party has reiterated that it was committed to the stand taken at the all-party meeting.

TDP official spokesman Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu said the party would stand by the letter given to the Centre at the all-party meeting convened by union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on December 28.

“Unlike the Congress party which is still dilly dallying on the issue, our party has taken a stand on Telangana statehood demand. We are committed to the stand. The Congress leaders are enacting a big drama by trying to create troubles to Naidu’s padayatra in Krishna district,” he said.

Muddu blamed it on the Congress party for the present uncertainty in the state.

“The party is trying to create a wedge between people of two regions by not taking any clear decision on Telangana. We are demanding that the Election Commission should derecognise the Congress party which is responsible for the chaos in the state,” he said.
