Editorial: Daddy! Who Are Muslims?

Editorial: Daddy! Who Are Muslims?
The Lucknow High Court verdict is coming out in a few hours Entire nation is made red alert. Police have tightened their belts. Schools declared holidays.

My friends are saying that their children are asking them a simple question, “Daddy! Who are Muslims? My teacher said Muslims and Hindus are going to fight to kill on roads tomorrow and hence holiday?” That is the plight of tender hearts in this 2010. They are growing up as true human beings far from religious and caste bars. But this political uproar is changing their minds. When the fathers are trying to explain that nothing is going to happen, they are stubborn to convince them saying, “No. you don’t know. My teacher told. She asked us not to go out from apartments and play only inside. Muslims and Hindus kill each other tomorrow”.

That is the education system today. Teachers are pumping in pessimistic and cowardice feelings among them. They are asking the kids to keep far away from problems instead of teaching them how to think to solve them as growing citizens.

The verdict may be silent. But the people those take it as a weapon to grow themselves change the picture of nation. If the judgment goes in favor of Muslims, then BJP finds it a chance to show its identity by creating havoc, joining hands with VHP, RSS, Bajrang Dal et al. If it goes in favor of Hindus, Majlis in Hyderabad may have a chance to gain their supremacy through violence. The Muslim groups in Mumbai, the representative of SIBI, Lashqar-E-Toiba, ISI et al also find it a reason to pamper local uneducated Muslim youth to join their so-called Jihad.

An incident happened in Bangalore. When a group of 5 youngsters in age group 18 years were asked 5 questions regarding Babri Masjid incident, none answered all correct. They even don’t know who the CM of Uttar Pradesh then and who the PM of India at that time. They don’t have knowledge. But they have great wisdom. They simply said that they are not bothered about the issue of mud and bricks but think about only hearts of their fellow beings.

After all, it’s the verdict of a High Court. There is Supreme Court above that. Another 20 years may burn again for another verdict. Another generation passes by then.

But now, this HC Verdict is going to become a tool for many. That can at the cost of government properties or a few lives of people.
