Poor fellows! This is the reaction one would give on looking at the plight of senior MLAs from East Godavari district like Jyothula Nehru and Varupula Subba Rao, who jumped from YSR Congress party into the Telugu Desam Party for their selfish political interests expecting big positions in the TDP.
Both the MLAs have been extremely uncomfortable in the TDP, as nobody is bothering about their existence. Their followers are terribly upset as the leaders are not getting any recognition in the TDP.
When Jyothula and Varupula joined the TDP, there were reports that both of them were assured of good positions – cabinet post for Jyothula and a corporation chairman post for Varupula.
But after they took a plunge into the TDP, there was stiff resistance from the already existing leaders who were loyal to the party.
“When we don’t get any posts and positions, how can the defectors expect big posts?” they asked. Both the leaders have already got contracts right from modernisation of Eluru canal to recent works in the district. “Are they not enough? How can they be given cabinet berths and corporation posts?” they asked.
