Alliance Turns A Headache For Naidu

The hard-won electoral alliance between the BJP and TDP has turned out to be a great head-ache to former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as demoralized TDP leaders of Vijayawada Central, Malkajgiri, Narsapur and other places were contemplating to contest as Independents in the ensuing general elections.

On Monday morning, TDP ticket aspirants and party workers from Uppal and Khairatabad Assembly constituencies staged a dharna at the residence of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu at Jubilee Hills.

The followers of former minister and retired CBI director K Vijayarama Rao launched a demanding that Naidu not allocate Khairatabad seat to the BJP under seat-sharing accord. One party activist even went to the extent of committing self-immolation against TDP leaving Khairatabad to BJP.

When Naidu was leaving in a car after announcing list of Telangana TDP candidates in the afternoon, the protesting party workers stopped his car. The TDP president got down from the car and tried to pacify the irate party men saying that sacrifices were unavoidable in the adjustment of seats.

Stating that the people in the country were yearning for NDA rule at the Centre and TDP rule in the State, Chandrababu assured that he would render justice to all those who suffered injustice in future.

Exuding confidence that the TDP would form governments in both Telangana and Seemandhra, he said all the affected people would be suitably rewarded.
