Y S Sharmila, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, appears to be roping in several senior and retired bureaucrats who had earlier worked with her father, to drum up support to her new political party in Telangana.
According to sources, Sharmila is contacting several officials who were close to late YSR but were staying away from her brother Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is learnt she has consulted retired IAS officer K Prabhakar Reddy who has agreed to join hands with her.
Prabhakar Reddy was a close associate of YSR and worked in the chief minister’s office as special secretary during YSR regime.
After retirement, he had joined Krishnapatnam Infra and has occasionally been appearing in media debates.
Sharmila reportedly consulted Prabhakar Reddy and discussed with him about YSR was handling various political issues.
He also reportedly explained to her about various policy decisions and their implementation etc. Reddy might join her as an advisor.
Similarly, former IPS officer Uday Simha might also join Sharmila’s party as another advisor. He was the chief security officer of YSR during his regime.
There are reports that popular motivational speaker Brother Shafi might also join Sharmila party soon.
He would be helpful to give lecturers to the party cadre and leaders on public issue, besides being her speech writer in the coming days, sources added.
