How different is Revanth from Jagan?

Soon after A Revanth Reddy assumed office as the new Chief Minister of Telangana, comparisons began with former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, particularly in terms of his people-friendly approach to governance.

Some media outlets have also drawn parallels between Revanth Reddy and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the implementation of welfare schemes.

While both Jagan and Revanth are relatively new to administration, they have swiftly demonstrated their capabilities and effectiveness in governance and party management.

They have engaged with senior leaders to ensure smooth administration.

However, observers note a significant difference in their attitudes toward opposition parties.

From the beginning, Jagan adopted a vengeful stance towards the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its affiliated media outlets.

He immediately announced a thorough review of all decisions made by the previous TDP government, demonstrating a clear act of political vengeance.

Jagan swiftly dismantled Praja Vedika, a public interface platform adjacent to former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's residence, declaring it a violation of rules.

His tenure saw the rejection of key decisions made by Naidu, including those related to the capital city of Amaravati, introducing his own set of schemes, and initiating a witch-hunt against TDP leaders.

In Telangana, Revanth Reddy has taken a different approach. Despite promising a review of controversial decisions made by K Chandrasekhar Rao's (KCR) government during the elections, Revanth has not rushed to seek revenge against KCR, who had previously sent him to jail in 2015 in the cash-for-vote scam.

On the very first day, Revanth had the iron grills and gates of Pragati Bhavan demolished but spared the building itself, renaming it Jyothiba Phule Praja Bhavan.

He held a darbar with the people the following day. When KCR had a hip injury, Revanth ensured a smooth process for shifting him to Yashoda Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Later, Revanth visited KCR in the hospital to show respect.

Revanth even expressed a wish for KCR to attend the assembly sessions at the earliest, emphasizing the government's willingness to utilize KCR's advice for efficient governance.

This distinction in approach highlights the difference between Revanth and Jagan.
