Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into nearly 30 companies in North Texas over suspected misuse of the H-1B visa programme.
According to an official statement released on April 30, 2026, the Attorney General’s office has issued Civil Investigative Demands (CIDs) to multiple firms as part of an ongoing probe into alleged visa fraud.
Several companies have been named in the investigation, including Tekpro IT LLC, Fame PBX LLC, 1st Ranking Technologies LLC, Qubitz Tech Systems LLC, Blooming Clouds LLC, Virat Solutions Inc., Oak Technologies Inc., Techpath Inc., and Techquency LLC.
Authorities suspect these firms of engaging in fraudulent practices to exploit the H-1B system.
Investigators allege that some companies operated so-called “ghost offices,” falsely projecting active business operations to sponsor foreign workers.
Paxton said his office would take strict action against any misuse of the visa programme.
“I will not allow the H-1B programme to be abused by bad actors looking to exploit loopholes,” he said, adding that efforts would continue to detect and stop fraud.
As part of the probe, authorities have sought detailed records from the companies, including employee data, business operations, financial statements, and internal communications.
Officials stated that the investigation is part of a broader effort to closely monitor the use of H-1B visas and ensure compliance with legal norms.
This action follows earlier investigations into alleged visa abuse involving other Texas-based firms, with the Attorney General’s office continuing its scrutiny to ensure the programme is not misused.
