Farmers starving, KCR feasting: Revanth!

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy on Monday accused Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of colluding with Narendra Modi government at the Centre and doing injustice to the state.

Addressing a rally at Uppal bus depot as part of Bharat Bandh, before he was arrested by the police in the evening, Revanth Reddy wondered why KCR and his party leaders stayed away from Bharat Bandh called by all opposition parties, opposing draconian agriculture laws introduced by the centre last year.

“More than 400 farmers have lost their lives during the year-long agitation demanding scrapping of the farm laws. Thousands of farmers are starving due to loss of crops and lack of remunerative prices. But KCR preferred to sit in New Delhi and enjoying feasts with Union ministers,” the PCC chief alleged.

He reminded that KCR’s son and state IT minister K T Rama Rao himself had taken part in the nation-wide agitation against the agriculture laws in the past.

“But nobody knows what happened later and what message the Centre has sent to him; KCR rushed to Delhi and has been spending time there, meeting Union ministers instead of participating in the Bharat Bandh,” he said.

Describing KCR and Modi as two sides of a coin, the PCC chief alleged that the Telangana government made every attempt to thwart the Bharat Bandh in the state.

“But the people participated in large numbers and made it a big success,” he claimed.

The PCC chief said the people were left to their fate when the Coronavirus pandemic was claiming hundreds of lives.

He also pulled up the Prime Minister and Telangana chief minister for ignoring the plight of the unemployed.

“More than 33 crore unemployed youths are waiting for jobs. KCR promised to provide one job to every family, but failed to fill up job vacancies. His family members have got jobs, but not the poor unemployed youth. We have to get rid of the Kalvakuntla dynasty,” Revanth said.
