Cong MLA Got Excuse To Defect To TRS!

Cong MLA Got Excuse To Defect To TRS!

Ever since the Telangana Rashtra Samithi came back to power for a second successive term in December assembly elections, some of the Congress MLAs have been eagerly waiting for an opportunity to defect into the ruling party.

Though no Congress MLA has made any attempt to join the TRS so far, a couple of them have been dropping hints on their possible defection.

The latest example is Rega Kantha Rao, MLA from Pinapaka assembly constituency in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Kantha Rao has been waiting for an excuse to defect to the TRS. And he got it on Thursday night.

He resigned from all the posts in Congress after the party appointed Kothagudem MLA Vanama Venkateshwara Rao as party president of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Kantha Rao who aspired for the District Congress Committee (DCC) president post was upset after the party accorded the post to Vanama.

He then resigned from PCC chief secretary post and Mahabubabad parliament constituency convenor post.

The Pinapaka MLA sent his resignations to TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and also the high command.

He is looking for green signal from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar for taking the plunge into the TRS.

It is learnt Kantha Rao had already made up his mind to defect to the TRS. He did not even attend the felicitation of newly-elected Congress Legisalture Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who also hails from Khammam district.

That led to the talk that Kantha Rao might not continue in the Congress for a long time.

Similar signals have come from Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy allias Jagga Reddy, who singing paens for KCR these days.

May be, he is waiting for his arch rival T Harish Rao to move to New Delhi as an MP.
