Jagan to take up deeksha at Amaravati!

While trying to bring pressure on the Centre by setting April 6 as the deadline for granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is planning to bring a psychological pressure on Telugu Desam Party in the state, thereby gaining clear political advantage.

Jagan has already announced a programme of action, asking his party leaders and cadre to take up dharnas and deekshas all over the state on March 1 demanding special category status to AP.

The primary objective of the deekshas is to push the TDP on the defensive for compromising on the special category status and agreeing for special package which is yet to be granted completely.

Now, Jagan himself is said to be planning to stage a sit-in dharna at Amaravati on March 1 on the special category status issue.

He has chosen this date because the budget session of the Andhra assembly will be going on at that time.

By taking up deeksha in Amaravati, Jagan plans to turn the heat on the TDP as well as the Centre. However, it is unlikely that he will get permission from the police for the deeksha in Amaravati in view of the restrictions for assembly sessions.
