Indians Slam Trump's Ceasefire Tweet

Many in India are criticizing Donald Trump for intervening in the Indo-Pakistan conflict.

His tweet, which carried a sarcastic tone when read between the lines — with phrases like "common sense" and "great intelligence" — has irritated many Indians.

"Who are you, Trump, to come in between? Keep your mouth shut!" read a blunt social media post from an angry netizen.

Even news anchor Arnab Goswami expressed his frustration over Trump's involvement, accusing him of unnecessarily jumping the gun and taking undue credit at a time when it was India that had responded to Pakistan’s request for a ceasefire.

Goswami also pointed out the irony that Trump had previously claimed he would not involve himself in the internal matters or conflicts of other nations.

Putting that aside, some netizens are also raising questions about the terms of the ceasefire.

"What about the Indus Water Treaty? What about PoK? What about Kulbhushan Yadav? All of these issues should have been addressed before agreeing to a ceasefire," one user wrote.

"India could have captured PoK before the ceasefire — I’m disappointed," read another emotional post.

Whatever the sentiment, the ceasefire has come as a surprise to many.
