YSRCP makes social media activists, big scapegoats!

YSRCP makes social media activists, big scapegoats!

The YSR Congress party leaked the news and video clippings about TTD chairman B R Naidu’s sexcapades a couple of days ago itself; and got it planted on social media through its thousands of supporters, social media activists and Jagan fans.

The party even approached a few popular digital media houses to plant the story against B R Naidu, but they refused to carry the story, unless the party officially issues a statement on it or some leader addresses a press conference, since it may lead to legal complications if the allegations turn out to be false and the video clippings are morphed or AI-generated.

However, the YSRCP took enough care that it was not highlighted on the party’s official social media handle or by the party’s media wing.

Even Jagan’s own media house Sakshi did not carry the report on the first day, apparently to avoid legal complications.

It was only after the video clippings and report went viral, propagated by pro-YSRCP social media activists and Jagan fans, did the party leaders entered into the scene and addressed press conferences, saying B R Naidu was a man of immoral conduct and he should step down in the wake of the videos being circulated on social media.

Expectedly, B R Naidu took serious note of the videos and reports carried by social media activists and filed a case against them.

The police have registered the case and are now targeting the social media which carried the scandalous reports against the TTD chairman.

Though Naidu is accusing the YSRCP leaders including former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy of masterminding such malicious campaign against him, he cannot directly file a case against him, because the latter was not directly involved in the leakage of the video footage.

Now, the poor social media activists, who carried the story at the behest of the YSRCP, are now forced to face the legal complications, including possible arrest, while the YSRCP leaders get away without any cases.

“Though some of these social media people might have taken money from the YSRCP to plant the story against B R Naidu, many others who forwarded the same and made it viral are just blind supporters of the party and Jagan. Now, they have to face the heat of the law,” an analyst said.
