YSR Congress party leader and former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy may soon return to jail in connection with the corruption case in Tirupati Urban Development Authority, according to Telugu Desam Party MLA from Chandragiri Pulivarthi Nani.
Speaking to the media during his visit to Tirupati on Friday, Nani claimed that officials who aided Chevireddy’s family would face suspension within a week.
He further alleged that Chevireddy would inevitably face punishment in connection with fraudulent voter enrolment.
The MLA launched a sharp attack on Chevireddy’s son, Mohith Reddy, accusing him of amassing wealth by leveraging his father’s political influence.
He described the family as lacking political ethics and alleged large-scale corruption.
Nani also claimed to possess evidence of a Rs 600 crore liquor scam allegedly carried out by Chevireddy without the knowledge of YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He stated that he had remained focused on development for the past 23 months and avoided engaging in vendetta politics.
He further alleged that Jagan had distanced himself from the Chevireddy family, even denying them office space in Tadepalli.
Throwing a challenge, Nani invited Chevireddy to a public debate and even proposed taking an oath at the Kanipakam temple to prove their claims.
