Dr Raj Mohan Gandhi, eminent biographer and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi came to Hyderabad to participate in the 2014 Literary Festival where he made some interesting observations.
Responding to a question on the Telangana issue, Dr Raj Mohan said, “The solution to Telangana issue does not lie in Delhi. It lies here in Andhra Pradesh, on the soil of Andhra Pradesh. a solution can be arrived at if the people or legislators here talk among themselves. But they are doing the rounds of Delhi instead.”
He further added, “Even during partition, a commission was appointed with four Indians, two Hindus, one Sikh and one Muslim. But they could not come to an agreement and there was no unity among them. So the British decided the border instead.”
Really wise words indeed from the grandson of the Mahatma! But, any takers for it?
