YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to relocate his primary base from Bengaluru to Hyderabad in the coming weeks, according to party sources.
Jagan has reportedly taken this decision due to both family considerations and strategic political advantages.
Sources said his residence at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad is currently being renovated.
“Interior work is in progress, and the shift is expected once these arrangements are completed,” they added.
This will be the first time since the YSRCP’s electoral setback in the 2024 elections that Jagan is moving his operational base, after spending considerable time in Bengaluru.
According to sources, one of the key reasons behind the move is family-related. His two daughters, who recently returned from abroad after completing their education in London and Germany, are now based in Hyderabad and are involved in managing the family’s business interests.
One daughter is actively overseeing operations at Sakshi Media Group, the media arm closely associated with the YSR family, while the other is expected to handle broader business responsibilities.
With both daughters now professionally engaged in Hyderabad, the shift is seen as aligning personal and professional priorities in one location.
Another major reason for Jagan’s move is political. He is keen to be more accessible to party leaders, the public, and the media.
His prolonged stay in Bengaluru had limited his availability, with only occasional appearances at the Tadepalli office.
Proximity to major Telugu media houses, including Sakshi Media Group, is expected to help strengthen the YSRCP’s image-building efforts.
Operating from Hyderabad may also enable Jagan to recalibrate party strategy, strengthen advisory teams, and prepare for future electoral challenges.
Political analysts view this as part of a broader dual-track strategy—maintaining grassroots mobilisation in Andhra Pradesh while centralising leadership, communication, and planning functions in Hyderabad.
