Will it be hung assembly in Telangana this time?

Telangana state is most likely to witness the formation of a hung assembly with ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao going to have an edge over the other opposition parties, if the elections are held immediately.

This was reportedly revealed during an internal survey conducted by the TRS government through its intelligence department.

According to reports in a section of press, the TRS would be getting around 40 assembly seats, as against more than 100 assembly seats it has at present.

The Congress would improve its tally substantially and stand in the second position, while the BJP would end up in the third position; yet its tally would go up from the present three seats to more than a double digit.

Interestingly, the survey which was conducted in all the assembly segments without the knowledge of the sitting MLAs, reportedly revealed that the TRS would be losing heavily due to the new comers, rather than the seniors who have been with the party right from the beginning.

The survey also pointed out clearly as to where the TRS has its support from the people and why it has lost. Though the TRS government has been implementing several welfare schemes with every family getting the benefits of the scheme in one way or the other, it is surprised why there is so much anti-establishment wave in the state.

One of the reasons for the fall of the TRS is its organisational weakness and the lack of effective mechanism to take the government schemes into the people.

“It was only after obtaining the survey report that the TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao,” a source said.

Not depending solely on the intelligence survey, KCR reportedly conduct another independent survey conducted by a private television channel and the results were more or less same.

“Both the surveys indicated that the performance of those who joined the TRS at a later stage is very poor and the people are not happy with them, while those who have been with the party and the Telangana cause still have hold over their respective constituencies,” the survey revealed.

It appears KCR might go in for overhauling of the candidates contesting the next elections and bring in new faces to overcome the anti-incumbency.
