Will Cong Permit Revanth To Take Up Padayatra?

Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy, who joined the Congress party officially on Tuesday, was planning to take up an extensive padayatra across the length and breadth of Telangana to fight against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government.

But that was before he joined the Congress. Once he is in the party, he is just like a drop in the ocean and he cannot take his own individual decisions and for every move, he has to consult the high command.

The kind of freedom and power he had enjoyed in the Telangana TDP, will not be there in the Congress.

So, it is doubtful if Revanth gets the nod to take up the padayatra. First of all, he does not have any post or position in the Congress party.

Secondly, it is the party and not an individual who takes up any programme. So, if Revanth has any plan, it has to be executed by the Congress.

What is more, there is no culture of encouraging individuals to take up the programme of their own, as the party is bigger than any individuals. No individual will be allowed to garner all the limelight and emerge as the hero of the party.

That is precisely why it is doubtful whether Revanth gets a chance to take out padayatra on his own. It has to be first approved by TPCC and then the AICC. And it has to be taken up as a party programme involving everyone.

And Revanth has no choice but to work under the leadership of Uttam Kumar Reddy in the state and under the leadership of Rahul and Sonia in the centre.
