Why Is Pawan Targeting Jagan?

Power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, who took Visakhapatnam by storm on Wednesday, appeared to have deliberately targeted YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, while going a little softer towards Telugu Desam Party in his criticism.

Perhaps for the first time, Pawan has directly spoke against Jagan, who has been on his marathon padayatra in Andhra Pradesh for the last one month.

Stating that Jagan is power hungry, the Jana Sena chief said it was wrong on the part of the YSRC leader to expect to become the chief minister just because he is the son of former chief minister.

“It is foolish on the part of Jagan to think that he would become the chief minister soon afte the death of his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

How can anybody expect to become the chief minister just because he happens to be the CM’s son?

Heirs of politicians should prove their worth before aspiring for bigger positions,” Pawan said, while addressing his party workers.

He also pointed out to the allegations of corruption against Jagan during his speech.

“I did not support Jagan only because of the stigma of corruption attached to him. I was afraid I, too, would become corrupt, if I supported his party in 2014,” the Jana Sena chief said.

By listening to the strong comments made by Pawan, it appeared that he was carrying the agenda of TDP president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Though he tried to create the impression that he was criticising Naidu as well, Pawan hardly made any direct attack on Naidu, except that the latter was too facing allegations of corruption and was encouraging his son Lokesh Babu in politics.

“Youth does not mean just Jagan or Lokesh,” he said.

There is no surprise if people think Pawan is trying to neutralise the impact of Jagan’s padayatra and thereby indirectly benefiting Naidu!
