Telangnana Congress leaders are getting frustrated over the repeated lobbying by the Seemandhra leaders with the Centre to get Union Territory status to Hyderabad.
It was evident from the outburst of Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao and MLC K R Amos, who on Thursday condemned Seemandhra leaders’ lobbying for Union Territory status for Hyderabad.
Describing Hyderabad as the heart of Telangana, Hanumantha Rao said that the people of this region could not give away their heart to Seemandhra leaders.
He said that Hyderabad should be the capital of Telangana State without any string attached and any change in its status would not be acceptable to the people.
He advised Seemandhra leaders to concentrate on building a new capital for their region than eyeing on Hyderabad, which belongs to Telangana.
Amos also advised the Seemandhra leaders to focus on developing their own capital than trying to stall the process of Telangana formation.
“The Seemandhra leaders are wasting their energies in seeking change in the status of Hyderabad. Instead, they advise an appropriate place for the new capital for the residual State of Andhra Pradesh. The Centre was ready to provide funds for the development of the new capital,” he said.
