Power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan’s attack on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, questioning the latter’s claim for the chief minister post after the death of his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, has evoked some sharp reaction from the main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh.
The YSRC on Thursday came out with a strong rebuttal point-by-point to the criticism made by Pawan Kalyan during his Visakhapatnam trip on Wednesday.
Stating that Pawan had equal share in the corruption and nepotism indulged in by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, YSRC official spokesperson wondered whether the actor was reading out the script prepared by Naidu himself.
She asked why Pawan was not questioning several irregularities committed by Naidu government, whether it was in Pattiseema, Amaravati capital construction, sand mafia, land mafia, suicides of students in Narayana group of institutions and misuse of crores of rupees of money borrowed from various banks and agencies.
“Why didn’t Pawan utter a word against en masse purchase of opposition party MLAs by Naidu with his ill-gotten money? Do you want to play politics only during the period available between two shooting schedules?” she asked.
Referring to Pawan’s criticism on Jagan, the YSRC spokesperson shot back saying who had told him that Jagan had claimed CM post after his father’s death.
“Did ever Jagan tell anyone about his desire? Or did your brother tell you like that?” she asked.
She pointed out that the allegations of corruption against Jagan were only fabricated by the TDP and the Congress and he would come out clean after the court trial.
Asking about Pawan’s preaching about value-based politics, Padma said: “What values you are talking about? Are you a role model for value-based politics?
Why should people follow you? Is it because of your shady married life? How can you talk about dynasty in politics, when your family itself is encouraging dynasty domination in films?” she asked.
