Was knife used in attack on Jagan poisoned?

Firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari and actress R K Roja broke down on coming to know about the attack on the life of party president and leader of opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam airport on Thursday.

“It is unfortunate that the law and order situation in the state has worsened to such an extent that there is no security to even the Leader of the Opposition. What kind of security can the Chandrababu Naidu government can provide to the common people?” Roja asked.

Stating that the knife used in the attack on Jagan was the same one used in cockfights, Roja wondered whether the knife was poisoned as was generally done in cockfights.

It is a common practice that the knives tight to the legs of the roosters in the cockfights are smeared with poison so as to kill the rival cocks.

“The government should conduct a thorough probe into the attack on Jagan. If no action was taken against the accused, we take up state-wide agitation exposing the lawlessness in the state,” Roja threatned.

According to the police, the assaulter’s name is Janipalli Srinivasa Rao (30), son of Tata Rao, a resident of Taniyalapalli village near Amalapuram in East Godavari district.

He has been working as a chef in Fusion Foods Restaurant in Visakhapatnam airport for the last one year.
