Vangaveeti Radha To Join TDP?

The political circles in Andhra Pradesh were agog with speculations on Wednesday that senior YSR Congress party leader and prominent Kapu leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna is all set to join the Telugu Desam Party next week.

According to these speculations, Radha might join the TDP in the presence of party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu soon after the latter’s return from Davos on January 22 or 23.

The party’s senior leaders had already concluded negotiations with Radha and conveyed Naidu’s acceptance to his demand for giving him party ticket for Vijayawada (Central) assembly seat, which he had represented in the past.

It is learnt Radha has been upset with the YSR Congress party leadership ever since party’s trade union leader P Gowtham Reddy making derogatory comments against the former’s father and prominent leader Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga.

Though party announced suspension of Gowtham to pacify Radha, the former continued to remain active in the party activities.

Adding to the troubles of Radha, senior Congress leader Malladi Vishnu also joined the YSRC last year and the latest news is that party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has finalised Vishnu’s name for the Vijayawada Central seat. This has virtually dashed the hopes of Radha, who has started distancing himself from the YSRC.

Taking advantage of that, the TDP leaders managed to woo Radha in to their party, say sources.
