This Minister Finds Friends Disappearing

Politics can be a lonely battlefield, especially when the tide turns. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy appears to be facing that harsh reality as he battles defamatory reporting aired by a television news channel.

Although Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stepped in and ordered strict action over the controversial report, Komatireddy was left largely on his own in his home turf of Nalgonda.

Notably, none of the senior leaders of the Indian National Congress from the district came forward to publicly support him during the controversy.

In contrast, a few Congress leaders from other districts did react in his defence.

What raised more eyebrows, however, was the silence of those considered to be Komatireddy’s close followers, who chose to stay away from the issue altogether.

As the saying goes, silence can often speak louder than words—and in Nalgonda, that silence from Congress leaders is being seen as a telling signal.
