The latest talk among Congressmen is that Telangana PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah might soon be replaced.
It is a known fact that many Congress leaders are unhappy with the appointment of Ponnala and have been putting pressure on the Congress High Command to replace him with a more popular choice.
So it is being said that SC or BC leader is likely to appointed as the new PCC chief. One name that is being heard prominently is that of Madhira MLA Bhatti Vikramarka.
Apparently, party in-charge Digvijay Singh is already in talks with various T Congressmen to figure out who can be appointed as the next PCC chief.
CLP leader Jana Reddy, Council opposition leader D Srinivas, deputy leader Shabbir Ali, AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao, G Chinna Reddy, T Youth Congress leader Vamsichand Reddy were among the top Congress leaders that Diggy spoke to for consensus.
Meanwhile, it is being said that some Congress leaders want a candidate from north Telangana due to party’s dismal performance in the region.
A few others feel that the High Command must appoint an able leader instead of choosing one based on his social background. One thing is clear though, the change is imminent.
