TDP Offers Rs 40 Crore To Buy YSRC MLA?

YSR Congress party has been alleging at every platform that Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had bought 23 of its MLAs and three of its MPs with his ill-gotten money to weaken the opposition.

On Wednesday, yet another MLA of YSR Congress party Dr M Sunil Kumar representing Puthalapattu assembly constituency in Chittoor district, made a startling allegation that the TDP leadership had offered him Rs 40 crore for resigning from YSRC to join the TDP.

“Some TDP leaders contacted me some time ago and bargained with me for joining the TDP. They offered be Rs 40 crore, if I joined the ruling party. But I flatly rejected the same,” he said.

In fact, there were reports a couple of years ago that Sunil Kumar, indeed, was planning to join the TDP, along with another MLA N Amarnath Reddy from Palamaner and GD Nellore MLA K Narayanaswamy, as they were very unhappy with YSRC leadership. But of them, only Amarnath Reddy joined the TDP and became a minister in Chandrababu Naidu cabinet.

But, now with Sunil Kumar making it clear that the TDP leadership tried to lure him, it is pretty evident that Naidu might have offered similar amounts to the other YSRC MLAs also to defect into the TDP.

“It is better Naidu shows interest in developing the state, rather than in buying the opposition party MLAs by spending big amounts,” Sunil Kumar said.
