T-Bill In LS In A Day Or Two?

If the reports from New Delhi are to be believed, the Telangana bill is likely to be introduced in Lok Sabha in a day or two.

According to sources, the Union Cabinet which would meet on Thursday to give approval to the Telangana bill which was finalized by the Group of Ministers after incorporating certain amendments suggested by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Soon after that, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde would personally take the bill to President of India to get his approval.

Since it is a Cabinet decision, the President might not turn it down, say sources.

Within no time, the bill would be brought to the Lok Sabha for introduction. It might not be passed immediately, but it would be done in the next couple of days.

In all probability, the bill would be passed through voice vote, say sources.

Apparently, the Centre wants to keep the introduction of Telangana bill in Lok Sabha a secret affair so as to deny an opportunity for the Seemandhra leaders to raise a hue and cry.

That is precisely why Shinde did not mention the date while writing the letter Lok Sabha to Speaker to fix the date, whereas he had mentioned the date of February 10 for introduction in Rajya Sabha.

If the Seemandhra MPs continue to create ruckus, the Centre would not hesitate to suspend them to get the bill passed, say sources.
