Sharmila party flag: Light yellow with blue border?

Contrary to the expectations of the political analysts and observers, Y S Sharmila, daughter of former combined Andhra Pradesh chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, has turned out to be a star attraction.

Whether it was because she is the daughter of YSR or sister of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, people have evinced interest in seeing her, as she took out a big procession in a large convoy of cars from her Lotus Pond residence to Khammam town.

At Suryapet, thousands of people lined up on either of the road to see Sharmila, who was wearing light yellow saree with dark blue border. This has given rise to the impression that her party flag would also be in the same colour – yellow with blue border.

This shows Sharmila is taking enough care to see that her party would have no resemblances to her brother’s party – YSR Congress – in any manner, both in the flag colour as well as the party philosophy.

Sharmila evoked a lot curiosity among the people as she passed through Suryapet. It is pretty evident that there is still a lot of craze among the people towards YSR and since there is no party which carries the legacy of YSR, Sharmila might capitalise on it.

According to a political analyst, there is definitely a political vacuum in Telangana in the opposition side, as there is no strong opposition party that can take on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

“She would definitely make an impact on the Telangana politics, if not to the extent of coming to power. But she can upset the calculations in at least four districts – Khammam, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar. More than the TRS, she will cause a big dent in the opposition vote bank,” the analyst said.
