Rosaiah Out, Vidyasagar Rao Takes Over!

Rosaiah Out, Vidyasagar Rao Takes Over!

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Konijeti Rosaiah finally relinquished his office of the Tamil Nadu Governor on Wednesday after completion of his five-year term.

Though there were reports that Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa made a representation to the Narendra Modi government to continue Rosaiah for yet another term since he is the most non-controversial Governor, the Centre has ignored her request. The reason is simple: Rosaiah is not a Sangh Parivar, but a hardcore Congress leader. So, Modi will not like a Congress man to continue as Governor.

For the time being, Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao will look after the Raj Bhavan in Chennai, till a new Governor is appointed.

Needless to say, Vidyasagar Rao is an out and out Sangh Parivar and former Union minister in Vajpayee government. So, he is the obvious choice. May be, another BJP leader would take over as Governor of Tamil Nadu shortly.
