As expected, Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy joined the Congress party in New Delhi in the presence of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
What is interesting was that as many as 18 Telugu Desam Party and other party leaders from Telangana also followed Revanth in joining the Congress party. And many of them are quite seniors and have a very good hold in their respective constituencies.
They include Dhanasari Anasuya alias Seethakka, Boda Janardhan, Vem Narender Reddy, Arikela Narsa Reddy, Soyam Bapu Rao, Vijayaramana Rao, Dommati Sambaiah, Satyanarayana Rao, M Satyam, Rajaram Yadav and Satish Madiga.
Indications are that many other Telangana TDP and TRS leaders are also likely to join the Congress party in the coming days.
By the time Rahul comes to Telangana to address the public meeting at Mahbubabad, the party is going to get a lot of strength in Telangana.
Naturally, this is encouraging news for the Congress party before the next elections. At one stage, there were reports that the Congress party might not find good candidates to contest the elections as almost all the top leaders had joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the last three years.
If there is a reverse exodus, it will boost the confidence levels of the party leaders.
