Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy on Monday invited criticism from within for suggesting his party MLA Sampath to tender an apology by joining Telugu Desam Party members to disrupt Governor speech on the first day of budget session.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Utham Kumar Reddy is learnt to have expressed discontent on Jana Reddy for pressing Sampath to tender apology.
Being the Opposition, the Congress should play a role to put in fix the ruling party, Uthaam told Jana Reddy, it is learnt. The Opposition should not take a soft corner and instead target the government on its failures, Utham is said to have asked Jana Reddy.
Bone of contention is that the CLP leader sought that the members whoever defame the house and belittle the national anthem should apologise, Jana Reddy said in the Assembly. This comment led to discontent among the congress members who openly found fault with Jana Reddy.
Later, Jana maintained that he will crack the whip on the failures of the government in future according to informed sources.
