PK overshadows all seniors in YSRC?

PK overshadows all seniors in YSRC?

Too many cooks spoil the broth- goes the saying. And YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is understood to be going firmly by this proverb.

According to sources in the party, Jagan has decided to completely bank on political strategist Prashant Kishor and his team, which he had hired for working out winning strategies for his party in the next elections.

He has reportedly stopped taking advices from senior leaders of the party and has decided to strictly go by what Prashant team tells him.

Even with regard to announcement of poll promises and selection of candidates in all the assembly constituencies, besides chalking out political strategies, Jagan is strictly following the suggestions of PK and the team, which is obtaining feedback from the ground level and submitting reports to the party president from time to time.

Apparently, Jagan has felt that listening to the advices of too many seniors in the party would create a lot of confusion.

During the 2014 elections, Jagan had to bank on these seniors and since he had spent most of the time in jail, he did not understand the ground realities.

Taking advantage of it, the seniors gave him wrong reports about the strengths of the candidates and got them party tickets. This resulted in the debacle for the party in the elections.

This time, Jagan has thought it is better to depend on a neutral person like PK who absolutely has no political leanings and interests in the selection of candidates.

However, one doubts whether PK has the understanding of the ground realities of Andhra politics. Irrespective of their self-interests, seniors definitely have their own assessment of the situation and strengths and weaknesses of the rival party.

So, one doubts whether it is right on the party of Jagan to completely ignore the seniors and depend only on PK.
