Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan on Thursday visited Polavaram project site in West Godavari to “review” the progress of the project works.
Normally, the project site is restricted for entry of any visitor unless there is an official permission.
The entry is shut for opposition parties, since the officials fear such visits would result in stalling of works, as the opposition leaders tend up summon the officials and seek explanation on various works.
The construction work will also come to a halt when there is a large number of party workers.
However, when Pawan visited the project site, he got a royal welcome. The officials treated him as a VVIP and even allowed a large number of his fans and followers along with them.
They virtually stalled the project works by storming the site. They thronged in big numbers and raised CM, CM.
Pawan appeared to be irked with these slogan shouting crowd. He urged his fans to stop calling him CM as he visited the project to the cause of people. But they did not listen to him.
The Jana Sena leader watched the project works from Hill view point. He enquired with officials the progress in the works taken up by Andhra Pradesh government.
Polavaram Chief Engineer Ramesh Babu explained the works taken up for spillway and other works.
It remains to be seen whether the YSRC leaders also get a similar treatment when they go to the project site later in the day.
