In Tollywood, everyone knows one thing clearly; getting Anushka in front of media for promotions is almost impossible. Even for her own films, she has mostly stayed away from publicity.
But now, a strange rumour is doing the rounds.
It is about a Malayalam film titled Kathanar, in which Anushka has acted. Like many other films, this movie is also getting a Telugu release.
The buzz is that Anushka will come to Hyderabad for promotions of this film.
Honestly, this sounds like a big joke.
Anushka has not actively promoted even her direct Telugu films in the past. Some of her movies were released without any promotions from her side. In such a case, expecting her to promote a dubbed Malayalam film looks quite unrealistic.
Moreover, this is not a full-fledged Anushka film. Even in the recently released trailer, her role does not appear to be very prominent.
So the big question is; will Anushka really promote this film in Telugu?
However, the makers are claiming that she will definitely take part in promotions and are even saying the film could become a big turning point in her career.
Kathanar is based on the life of a 9th-century Christian missionary.
While it is still unclear whether Anushka will promote the film in Telugu, one thing seems certain; she is likely to participate in promotions in Kerala, as this marks her first Malayalam film.
For now, the rumour continues but many in Tollywood are taking it with a pinch of salt.
