PCC Panels Trigger Unrest In Seniors!

PCC Panels Trigger Unrest In Seniors!

The announcement of various affiliated committees of the Pradesh Congress Committee to face the ensuing assembly elections to Telangana triggered a lot of unrest among the seniors.

Veteran Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, considered to be the strong loyalist of Sonia Gandhi family, was expecting to be nominated as the chairman of PCC campaign committee.

But the AICC denied him the position and instead made him the chairman of PCC strategy committee.

This has angered VH, who walked out of the meeting with AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad fretting and fuming after registering his protest.

“Instead of giving me an insignificant post, it is better to send me to Chanchalguda jail. I cannot work under the directions of my junior,” he said.

What angered him most was the appointment of former MP Vijayashanti as the party’s star campaigner and advisor to the campaign committee and former MLA A Revanth Reddy as the PCC working president.

“It is an insult to seniors. Obviously, there are coverts in the party who want to ruin its chances in the elections,” VH said.

Another senior leader and former MLA D Sudheer Reddy, who was also expecting some senior position in the PCC, was peeved at his nomination as just a member of the PCC election committee.

“I have been working as a disciplined soldier in the Congress party. I will continue to work like a loyalist till the end. I don’t need any posts and positions,” Reddy said.
