Past Is Past: Kodela Hints At Pardoning Roja!

It looks like the Telugu Desam Party does not want to drag the thread till it breaks on the suspension of YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja.

With the division bench of the Hyderabad Court on Tuesday upholding her suspension and leaving it to the decision of the Assembly Privileges Committee, the ruling party is understood to have sent signals to the YSR Congress party stating that it was ready for a compromise on allowing Roja into the Assembly, if tendered a written apology to the committee, if not openly in the House.

Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao also declared in the Assembly that all the members should forget the past and carry on with their respective business in the House.

“Gatam Gataha.. (past is past). Let wise sense prevail on all the parties,” he said.

While sources said this was the majority of the opinion of the YSR Congress party MLAs, only party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Roja are said to be firm on not tendering apology. They are of the view that if she tenders apology, it amounts to admitting the guilt.

While Roja said she was planning to move Supreme Court again, Jagan told media that he would take a decision after consulting legal experts.

Sources said there might not be much use to continue the legal battle, as it would only delay Roja’s entry into the House.
