The yellow media has been carrying stories on how Naidu is meeting his party MLAs one-one-one and pulling them up on their corruption. Recently, two MLA from Rayalaseema region also met Naidu.
The MLAs had allegedly siphoned off huge amounts in the ‘Neeru-Chettu’ programme.
When Naidu reportedly questioned them about this, they said it was Opposition propaganda and were chastened when Naidu did not believe them. Naidu warned them against bringing a bad name to the government.
The objective of this story becomes clear. The intention is to paint a squeaky clean image of Naidu and portray him as the epitome of honesty. The exercise is understandable although it is far from the truth.
From a 2-acre farmer to a billionaire, Naidu is anything but squeaky clean. One can understand and appreciate an impoverished or middle-class person making it big either through entrepreneurship or academics.
But a politician like Naidu? Heritage, Pattiseema, Polavaram, RFC deals, etc etc. The list is endless!
