Not many takers for Rayala-Telangana!

The demand put forth by a section of Rayalaseema Congress leaders and MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for creation of Rayala Telangana State seems to have not many takers.

School Education Minister and convener of Seemandhra Congress Legislature Forum Dr S Sailajanath on Thursday said that the demands for Rayala Telangana were old and it was opinion of only a few leaders. He said that majority of the legislators and council members preferred a united State and they would continue to fight for it. He said that he was consistent on the demand for keeping the State united.

Sailajanath said that in the beginning of the State division process, Centre said that it would not talk to anyone, but now they were inviting state’s leaders for the discussions. He made it clear that MLAs and MLCs of Seemandhra were favoring one State in view of the State’s well-being.

He criticized that two major political parties of the state were in favor of division. The minister criticized that Telugu Desam was preferring division in the guise of equitable justice. He also criticized YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy that he wanted the division to be done using article 3 of the constitution and made a U-turn.

Saialajanath said that they would fight in the Assembly and as per the rules to keep the state united.
