Naidu wooing even scribes to win Nandyal

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying every trick to win the by-elections in Nandyal, since a defeat in this election would demoralise the party and establish the anti-establishment sentiment in the entire state.

During his visit to Nandyal on Saturday, Naidu showered a number of sops for the voters and unveiled a slew of projects for the development of poll-bound constituency. At the same time, he also announced construction of three-bedroom houses for the journalists free of cost.

“I promise that our government will construct three bed room houses for all the journalists by next year. And I will fulfil the promise,” he said.

When there was no response from the media persons, Naidu requested them to show their happiness in the form of claps. And, the journalists had no option but to cheer him loudly.

It is not immediately known whether all the journalists in the state would be given three bed room houses or whether it was confined only to Nandyal. In any case, media persons have seen leaders making several such promises which were never fulfilled.

In Telangana, too, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has promised plots and double-bed room houses for the journalists, but the promise is yet to see the light of the day!
