Union finance minister Arun Jaitely has become the villain for the people of Andhra Pradesh after he rejected the special category status to the state.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, too, was highly critical of Jaitely when he made a statement in Parliament rejecting the special category status.
But when the finance minister announced a special package, he became dearest man for Naidu, so much so that he had addressed a mid-night press conference to thank Jaitely.
But, even this package is not forthcoming because the Central cabinet is yet to give approval to the package and release funds.
So, Naidu is desperately trying to pamper Jaitely to get the Cabinet approval for the package, so that his prestige would be upheld. That is perhaps why Naidu hosted a big feast for Jaitely when he came to Vijayawada on Friday.
He gave a rousing reception to Jaitely at Taj Gateway in the afternoon and treated him with sumptuous lunch, the menu of which had 50 different types of items, including Bhendi Amchur, Ulava Charu, Gongura Mutton, Crab curry, Tiger prawns fry, Natu Kodi Pulusu, Nellore fish pulusu, Patri Fish, Garelu and Ragi Sankati.
At the end of the feast, Naidu requested Jaitely to grant official sanction to the Central package so that he can speed up the developmental works. Does this begging help AP?
