A government school headmaster has been suspended and booked under criminal charges for allegedly posting objectionable content against Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on social media.
Daddala Srinivas, working as headmaster at a Zilla Parishad school in Tallur village of Kanigiri mandal, posted comments last December criticising the chief minister’s remarks on population growth.
A complaint was filed by a TDP worker alleging that the posts were defamatory and capable of inciting disputes. Acting on the complaint, police registered a criminal case.
Subsequently, District Education Officer C V Renuka issued suspension orders against Srinivas.
In an official statement, she said the action was taken in view of the criminal case and the violation of service conduct rules.
Police have repeatedly warned citizens against posting objectionable content on social media targeting political leaders, including the Chief Minister, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and other ministers. Officials indicated that further action, including possible arrest, may follow.
The incident has sparked debate, particularly as the accused is a government employee.
