Naidu to follow Modi, to fast on birthday!

Naidu to follow Modi, to fast on birthday!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will not celebrate his birthday on April 20. Instead, he will sit on a day-long hunger strike, in protest against the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh by the Narendra Modi government.

It was only a couple of days ago that the Prime Minister observed one day fast in protest against the stalling of the Parliament session by the Opposition parties. Apparently, Naidu wanted to counter the same.

“Modi was responsible for the stalling of Parliament, but he took up fast blaming the opposition. But my fast is to highlight the legitimate rights of the state and there is no compromise on the same,” Naidu said and appealed to the people support his fast.

“I won’t celebrate my birthday on April 20, to protest the betrayal of faith by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demand the implementation of the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act. There should be debate across the country on the injustice meted out to the state,” he said, while speaking at the birth anniversary celebrations of Ambedkar at Sakhamuru in Guntur district,

He said Modi was junior to him in politics, yet was trying to dictate terms to him.

“I became CM in 1995 and Modi in 2002. Now, he is conspiring to weaken me by colluding with YSR Congress party,” he alleged.

The chief minister also announced that a massive public meeting would be held in the temple town of Tirupati on April 30 to explain to the people how Modi had gone back on his own words in helping the state.

“In the presence of Lord Venkateshwara of Tirumala, Modi had promised all help to the state. But he has backtracked on his promises. Let us question him from the same place as why he has betrayed us. Let us reiterate our rights from this massive public meeting,” Naidu said.
