Naidu Speaking Blatant Lies On Polavaram?

Following reports of the Centre planning to order a probe into the irregularities in the construction of Polavaram project, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has started speaking lies.

According to former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Naidu has been resorting to blatant lying and changing stands frequently only to mislead the people.

First, Naidu said the state government had taken up the responsibility of executing the Polavaram project only on the recommendations of the Niti Aayog.

However, a Cabinet note of the Centre clearly showed that the project works were entrusted to the state government only at the request of Naidu.

On entrusting the major component of project works to Navayuga Constructions, too, Naidu spoke a lot of lies.

He said Navayuga had come forward to take up the project works at old rates despite knowing that it would incur losses. But the fact is that the project works were entrusted to Navayuga for Rs 1,254 crore at 2017-18 rates and not 2013-14 rates.

“While Navayuga was Naidu’s choice, he now says it was recommended by Nitin Gadkari,” Vundavalli said.

He alleged that when Polavaram Project Authority asked for revised estimates and transfer of assets and liabilities, the state had never furnished the same.

He sought to know why the revised estimates based on the current prices were not submitted to the PPA between March 2015 and September 2016 in spite of repeated requests.
